Meet Donna
She didn't learn about chickens from a textbook. She learned from the flock.
For more than 30 years, Donna has raised backyard chickens through just about everything a flock can throw at you—broody hens and surprise chicks, predator scares, illnesses and injuries, changing seasons, heartbreaking losses, and those unforgettable moments that make it all worthwhile.
She's made mistakes. She's tried things that worked—and plenty that didn't. And over the years, she learned something important: raising chickens doesn't have to be as complicated or overwhelming as it can feel in the beginning.
That's why Donna created The Coop Scoop.
What started with her own backyard flock has grown into a place where chicken keepers can get practical, experience-based advice without the complicated language, conflicting answers, or judgment that can make beginners afraid they're doing everything wrong.
